The coronavirus continues to spread in Austria, but the number of new infections has now leveled off considerably. There were 2,117 cases on Monday, 2,026 on Tuesday, 2,523 on Wednesday, 2,405 on Thursday and 2,329 on Friday yesterday.
And even one day after the opening summit of the federal government, the numbers remain at a stable level. According to the dashboard of AGES and sozialministerium.at, there have again been a total of 2,131 new infections and 15 deaths across Austria in the last 24 hours.

The situation in hospitals is also improving with each passing day. The number of Corona patients in normal (-11) and intensive care units (-10) continues to fall.

1,845 Corona patients in hospitals
To date, there have been 606,954 positive test results in Austria. As of April 24 (9:30 a.m.), 10,070 people have died and 570,684 have recovered from the effects of Corona virus throughout Austria. Currently, 1,845 people are receiving hospital care due to the Corona virus. Of these, 507 are being cared for in intensive care units.
The Ministry of Health’s dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at “covid19-dashboard.ages.at.” The dashboard obtains its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Reporting Register (EMS) and is updated daily, 14:00. The EMS is the official register in which data is entered by the district authorities as well as by laboratories.
